I am re-presenting the topic because the first presentation was a disaster.
For the colors I relied on the osprey books: "Army of Alexander the Great" and "Macedonian armies after Alexander"
The spears (xysta) are handmade from broom hair and have the right dimensions, 4.8 cm which in 1/72 scale corresponds to about 3.5 meters.
First cavalry unit

Very nice!

I especially like the Leopard skins. The standard bearer I am assuming is a conversion. Horses are Great too. You do great work :)

Second cavalry unit

That is a very nicely painted unit. I like all the things about it that I mentioned before. I also like the color choices. They fit. Nicely painted banner. The pteruges are painted well too. I have never painted leather any other color than brown(ish) so a bold move of yours to paint them red and purple. I like it.

Thank you Claus. The colors are based on Alexander's sarcophagus which represents the battles with the Persians.

They look good altogether too. One thing though, I wish that HäT had made more poses. Clearly this isn't enough.

This chromatology was maintained for several years after Alexander's death.

They look very much like your figures, Kudos to you. The standard bearer seems to be an officer in the last picture though, or maybe that is just me thinking that the cape from the one besides him is bigger than it is ;)

Yes he was an officer but a junior. His cape was rather yellow.

... Anyway, nice painting, good sources. What is your next project? :)

At the moment I'm painting some French knights from 100 years war. But in the meantime I'll upload older work.
