Some pics of my Persian Achaemenid heavy cavalry I recently finished. I like the set because of the protected horses. They were the precursor to the cataphract cavalry that became the main cavalry body in the AD classical period. Sassanid and Late Roman armies both used this cavalry as a ‘battering ram’ in battles to disperse infantry units.
