Besides the Persian immortals, the Achaemenid empire was famous for its archers.
These pics of the light Persian infantry give an impression of the divers satrapy forces of Darius empire.
The satrapies were provinces of the Achaemenid empire that were required to provide troops to the army in wartime.
This set has archers, slingers and javelin men who could target Persia’s enemies from afar and were especially useful against close battle formations, but had to be protected by armored allies against cavalry units.
